Sekonic L-478D LITEMASTER PRO

The ​Sekonic L-478D LiteMaster Pro has a ton of features that make light metering easier, more efficient and more fun. Unlike many meters without a respective "contrast" option, the ​L-478D LiteMaster Pro calculates EV stop differences between different light sources. This is extremely useful when working with multiple light sources which one wants to use to achieve defined lighting ratios. The L-478D LiteMaster Pro also shows the ratio between ambient and flash light, making it easy to achieve consistent results in outdoor scenarios. The touch screen technology is resistive rather than capacitive so one actually needs to press a bit rather than just touch. This requires a bit of adaptation regarding pressing behaviour in order to not miss presses, but once one has gotten used to the touch screen, it is very easy to use, and of course much better than having respective functions hidden behind long and combined button presses or buried in some menu. Light meters are unfortunately not cheap but for what it does the ​Sekonic L-478D LiteMaster Pro provides very good value for money, considering the light meter ecosystem. I'd definitely spend a bit more on the ​Sekonic L-478D LiteMaster Pro rather than being quite a bit slower with a cheaper but more basic light meter.
